I have always had a rebel type of mindset. I like the idea of rules bla bla bla wa wa wa, but I like them even better when they don’t to apply to me Lol. Growing up I always heard folks talk about the DON’TS of fashion. Mixing patterns was like going to an NYSYNC concert, wearing a Backstreet boys T-shirt. You just couldn’t do that!
But the little demon child in me couldn’t wait to grow up and follow through with all of the DON’TS 😂. Anywhos, I tend to have meaningful conversations with people who are decades older than me. Why? Because they have the most experience and regrets. Just the other day I was talking to an 81 year old man, and I asked him what he would do different, if he had to go back in time. His chin dropped, with a little sadness in his eye, he said:
“I would do what I liked more”. Folks, it was in that moment that I wanted to pack my bags and move to Paris. I like Paris. But then I remembered I couldn’t afford a plane ticket anyway. So instead I use that “do what you like more” card like an EBT card, I don’t fool around with it. I am liking my own company, dreaming bigger, spending quality with my loved ones, and trying to secure them checks. Cause I genuinely like checks addressed to me 😂.
With that being said, “Do whatever the hell you like, when you can”. Be kind. Be love. Spread love. Be genuine. Be silly. Be bold. Life is too short to wait around for perfection.
