WHAT MY FAMILY & I ARE DOING TO STAY SAFE. – CoVID-19

This happens to be a crucial time world-wide. It seems as though the Corona virus came and robbed the world of all sanity left. As if 2020 hasn’t been tragic enough, here we have a virus that is threatening humanity. As much as scientists (and the world at large) don’t know much about this virus, it is important to keep ourselves informed. Day by day, new layers are being added and it is vital that we all stay in the loop. Try to visit the CDC website daily to stay informed. While in the spirit of staying informed, shall we dive into what my family and I have been doing to stay safe?

STAY CALM: I know. I know. I know. You may have heard this a million times but it is true. Panic causes stress, stress compromises your immune system, and diseases (including Covid-19) thrive in an immune compromised body. Meaning not only are you putting your mental wellbeing at risk, but your physical as well. I understand that some people have anxiety, and dealing with this makes it even more tough. Mocking these people or shaming them is just cruel and insensitive, talk to them instead and try to be compassionate. My humans and I are finding ways to be calm, such as; making digital learning fun, exercising, baking, playing games, taking naps and being silly.

SANITIZING HIGH TOUCH AREAS:  Kids are naturally are nasty 😂. So this is nothing new for them. I made it a point to sanitize the soles of our shoes as soon as we get in the house, then wash our hands. When kids go to bed at the end of the day, I disinfect high touch area (door knobs, countertops, refrigerator door, remote controls, toys and gadgets) kitchen and bathrooms. We can all act as though we have the virus. Social distancing will flatten the curve, do your part and stay home.

SANITATION: What this virus has exposed is how unsanitary folks could be haha. Why is hand washing a new phenomenon? Not to brag, but to humbly brag: I haven’t bought not one cleaning supply, disinfectant, hand sanitizer or container of wipes. I have a brand new precious baby, coupled with my germophobia tendencies, so keeping a clean environment is paramount. Here are a few of my favorite disinfecting supplies.

IMMUNITY: I am in no capacity a healthcare provider, please consult your physician. I do not provide medical advise. However, we have been super diligent about keeping our bodies health. Multivitamins, fresh fruits, and vegetables, and exercise.

SPRING CLEANING: We are using this time to spring clean (kiddos must hate it lol). We are catching up on little projects that have been pending (dear husband). Clearing closets, cleaning the pantry and refrigerator, reorganizing around the house, deleting old emails and any form of illusion that makes one believe they are being productive hahaha.

REMOTE LEARNING: We live in Fulton county, and I can tell you that nothing makes me feel better than how our state and local authorities have handled the stress and panic that the Corona brought along. Dr. Mike Looney (Superintendent of Schools Fulton County, GA) has done a good job sending emails to keep parents and guardians informed. The Fulton County School system rolled out digital learning on Monday, March 16th. Students were provided with a ton of online learning activities and websites to keep them academically active. In addition, they are giving free meals to families whose students depended on the free lunch program. I digress. Here are some of the sites we were provided with.

Thank you for reading and sharing this post. Like always, I love you for reading.
